RESOLUTION 04-248
APPROVING CERTIFICATION OF THE 2004 SPECIAL FEDERAL CENSUS
OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City Council of Waukee approved conducting a special federal census
of the City of Waukee on March 19,2004;AND,
WHEREAS,the special census conducted by the Office of Special Censuses was
completed in July 2004;AND,
WHEREAS,the "Official Census Statistics"for total population is 8,132 and for housing
count is 3,292;both numbers as ofJuly 22,2004;AND,
WHEREAS,the Iowa Code 2003 Supplement,Section 9F.6 requires that cities who
undertake a special federal census must certify the census as soon as possible to the
secretary of state and to the state treasurer.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session this 1st day of November 2004 that it hereby approves Certification of the 2004
Special Federal Census of the City of Waukee and instructs the City Administrator/Clerk
to submit the necessary documentation certifying said census to the secretary of state and
the state treasurer of the State ofIowa.
