RESOLUTION 04-255
APPROVING GRACE WOODS DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORiTY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the Grace Woods Development Agreement has two components:
(1)The construction of a paved street south of the Grace Woods Project Area,
described as the North 325.04 feet of Lot A in Sunrise Meadows Plat 1,an Official Plat
now included in and forming a part of the City of Waukee,Dallas County,Iowa;
(2)The construction and maintenance of a Portland Cement Concrete bike and
pedestrian trail ten (10)feet in width located within the Surface Water Flowage Easement
at the rear of Lots 46 and Lots 48 -59;AND,
WHEREAS,Construction costs for the 325 feet of street paving are to include the
following at the estimated cost listed as follows:
•Grading $1,680.00
•Sub grade prep &rock shouldering 5,416.00
•Storm Sewer 3,600.00
•31'B-T-B Paving,9"(plus cone hardening)34,896.00
•Engineering 6,300.00
•Legal
•6'Sidewalk 6,390.00
•Phone Line Move 1,007.00
•Soil Erosion Control 1,272.00•Street Lighting 1,550.00
•Maintenance Bonds Inclusive
AND,
WHEREAS,the agreement includes a cost to the City of Waukee not to exceed $64,000;
AND,
WHEREAS,the bike and pedestrian trail once constructed shall be granted to the City
by perpetual easement for the benefit of the City and the public;AND,
WHEREAS,thereafter the hard-surface portion of the Trail shall be repaired and
maintained by the City and the Homeowners'Association shall be responsible for
mowing the area on either side of the hard-surface.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session this 15th day of November 2004 that it hereby approves the Grace Woods
Development Agreement.
