RESOLUTION 04-265 1
APPROVING THE PRELIMINARY DESIGN PROPOSAL FOR THE
PUBLIC WORKS FACILITY PREPARED BY DESIGN ALLIANCE
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,Jerry Purdy,AlA has presented the Public Works Department with a
preliminary design proposal for a new Public Works facility;AND,
WHEREAS,there are two phases included in tins proposal,those being:
Phase I where Design Alliance will investigate and document the project
requirements,discuss personnel,equipment,and facility interactions,investigate
several altemative designs,explore costs,communicate the idea for the project
and obtain consensus for the proposed design;and
Phase II will occur after the proposal has been accepted and funded and will
include completion of the schematic design phase,design development,
construction document preparation,bidding phase services and construction
administration;AND,
WHEREAS,the cost of this project will include Phase I at $11,653 and Phase II at a cost
of 8%ofthe construction contract;AND,1
WHEREAS,Staff is interested in proceeding with Phase I of the proposal and would
fund this Phase from the combined departmental budgets within Public Works (Water,
Sewer,Gas,Road Use,Parks and Public Works).
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session this 20th day of December 2004 that it hereby approves tile Preliminary Design
Proposal for the Public Works Facility prepared by Design Alliance.
