RESOLUTION 04-273 I
APPROVING PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH XENIA RURAL WATER
DISTRICT FOR THE PURCHASE OF WATER PIPELINE,METERS AND
APPURTENANCES RELATED TO AND COMPRISING THE PORTION OF
XENIA'S WATER SYSTEM PRESENTLY LOCATED IN THE WAUKEE
PURCHASE AREA
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee will be extending water to the R-22 Interchange for
residential water service and commercial fire protection;AND,
WHEREAS,in accordance with the 28E agreement with Xenia Rural Water District,the
City will buyout Xenia's portion of the water main,meters and appurtenances currently
located in the area through which the City is extending its water service;AND,
WHEREAS,the estimated costs of this purchase -$52,815.00 -based on the original
installation cost and estimated attomey,recording and inspection fees will be finalized at
the time of closing;AND,]WHEREAS,City staff and engineer have reviewed the original installation costs and
feel they are reasonable.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session this 20th day of December 2004 that it hereby approves the Purchase Agreement
with Xenia Rural Water District for the purchase of water pipeline,meters and
appnrtenances related to and comprising the portion of Xenia's water system presently
located in the Waukee Purchase Area for an amount not to exceed $52,815.00.4L~~~~-
