RESOLUTION 08-49 )
APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE CITY OF WAUKEE
COMYREHENSIVEPLAN
IN THE NAME AND BY THE A UTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State ofIowa,is a duly organized Municipal
Organization;AND,
WHEREAS,the City's Comprehensive Plan was first adopted in order to provide valuable
guidance and vision to the City in planning for future growth and development (Resolution #01-
159);AND,
WHEREAS,the unprecedented growth that Waukee has experienced in recent years has made it
necessary to thoroughly update the Comprehensive Plan;AND,
WHEREAS,the Waukee City Council approved awarding the contract for the Comprehensive
Plan Update to Gould Evans Associates (Resolution #06-178A);AND,
WHEREAS,numerous tOWl1hall meetings were held at the various stages of development of the
Comprehensive Plan to solicit input from the public regarding the Plan;AND,1
WHEREAS,the final draft of the Plan was approved by the Planning and Zoning Connnission
on February 12,2008;AND,
WHEREAS,a public hearing on the final draft of the Plan was held by the City Council on
February 25,2008 and continued on March 10,2008;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
10th day of March 2008 that it hereby approves and adopts the City of Waukee Comprehensive
Plan.
