RESOLUTION 08-55
SUPPORTING THE DEPUTY CITY CLERK'S ATTENDANCE AT THE IOWA MUNICIPAL
PROFESSIONALS INSTITUTE HELD JULY 21-25,2008
IN THE NAME AND BY THE A UTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,Rebecca Schuett agreed at the time of acceptance of employment as Deputy City Clerk that
she would work toward certification by either the International Institute of Municipal Clerks or the new
Iowa Certification for Municipal Professionals;AND,
WHEREAS,the Iowa Municipal Professionals Institute will be conducting an academy during the week
of July 21-25,2008,in order to provide educational courses needed to qualify for certification;AND,
WHEREAS,the Golden Circle Municipal Officers Association (GCMOA),a group formed to promote
efficient local government and provide educational opportunities for city clerks and financial officers,is
accepting scholarship applications for the Institute that will provide up to $200 toward a recipient's
attendance;AND,
WHEREAS,applications for the GCMOA scholarship must include a letter demonstrating that the
Mayor and City Council support the applicant's attendance at the Institute.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Waukee City Council in session this 10th day of March
2008 that it hereby supports the Deputy City Clerk's attendance at the Iowa Municipal Professionals
Institute held July 21-25,2008.
