1RESOLUTIONAPPROVINGANDACCEPTINGPETITION,CONTRACT AND
WAIVERS FROM PROPERTY OWNERS WITHIN THE SOUTHFORK AND WALNUT
RIDGE SUBDIVISIONS CONCERNING THE INSTALLATION OF GRINDER PUMPS
AND SERVICE LINES
WHEREAS,the city has received petitions from a large number of property owners
within the Southfork and Walnut Ridge subdivisions within the Corporate limits of the City of
Waukee requesting that the City install a Grinder Pump and Service Line,as identified on exhibit
A attached hereto;AND,
WHEREAS,the properties within said subdivisions are currently utilizing individual
septic systems which are aging and are anticipated to fail in the future;AND,
WHEREAS,Iowa Department of Natural Resources and Dallas County Environmental
Health have determined that a public collection system is necessary to provide sanitary facilities
to the residents of said subdivisions so as to best protect the citizens of the City of Waukee;
AND,
WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Waukee believe that the installation of a
Low Pressure Sanitary Sewer Collection system as requested by the majority of Property Owners
within the effected subdivisions is the most cost effective method of retrofitting these existing
subdivisions so as provide them with public sanitary sewer facilities;AND,]
WHEREAS,such a system requires the installation of Grinder pumps and service lines
at each property that connects to the collection system and several property owners have
requested that their grinder pumps be installed by the City and paid for through special
assessment;AND,
WHEREAS,on October 1,2007,the Waukee City Council approved Grinder Pump and
Service Line Agreements received prior to that date (Resolution #07-203);AND,
WHEREAS,the City has since received a Grinder Pump and Service Line Agreement in
addition to those approved by the City Council on the date noted above;
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WAUKEE,IOWA,that the Petition,Contract and Waiver requesting the installation of a
Grinder Pump and Service Line,submitted by the Property owner identified on exhibit A,is
hereby approved,subject to the conditions set forth therein.
