RESOLUTION 09-173
APPROVING THE ALIGNMENT OF THE NE DOUGLAS PARKWAY IMPROVEMENT
PROJECT
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,on July 6,2009,the Waukee City Council approved an Agreement for Engineering
Services with Civil Design Advantage (CDA)related to the NE Douglas Parkway Improvement
Project (Resolution #09-146);AND,
WHEREAS,consequently,on August 3,2009,the Waukee City Council approved a 28E Agreement
among the Cities of Waukee,Clive and Urbandale related to the construction of the NE Douglas
Parkway Improvement Project (Resolution #09-166);AND,
WHEREAS,as part of the Agreement for Engineering Services,CDA provided an analysis regarding
the alignment ofNE Douglas Parkway as it passes through the three municipalities participating in the
28E Agreement;AND,
WHEREAS,while the portion ofNE Douglas Parkway included with Waukee city limits will be
constructed at this time as a two-lane rural roadway section,the anticipated future expansion ofNE
Douglas Parkway to four lanes dictates that the current alignment of the project be more thoroughly
defined;AND,
WHEREAS,City staff have met with possible affected property owners and recommend the
alignment as shown in Exhibit A,which is attached hereto.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this 17th
day of August 2009 that it hereby approves the alignment of the NE Douglas Parkway Improvement
Project as shown in Exhibit A,which is attached hereto.
