RESOLUTION 09-249
RECOGNIZING THE SERVICE OF ISAIAH MCGEE TO THE CITY OF WAUKEE
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,Isaiah McGee has served as a Waukee City Council Member from January 2006 to December
2009;AND,
WHEREAS,while serving on the City Council,Isaiah supported the ongoing commitment of the Council,city
staff and Waukee Chamber of Corrnnerce to quality economic development and was a member ofthe Economic
Development Task Force,which evolved into the Waukee Economic Development Corporation;AND,
WHEREAS,Isaiah participated with the City of Waukee delegation on Greater Des Moines Partnership
lobbying trips to Washington,D.C.to seek federal funding for the Alice's Road/lOSth Street 1-80 Interchange;
AND,
WHEREAS,his position as an educator has helped bring an additional perspective to Waukee city government;
AND,
WHEREAS,he supported efforts by the Council and staff to increase Waukee's technological presence through
the City website and use of social media;AND,
WHEREAS,Isaiah was an ardent supporter of greater citizen involvement in the government process;AND,
WHEREAS,his commitment to the betterment of Waukee is an fine example of public service;
NOW THEREFORE be it resolved by the City of Waukee City Council in session this 21"day of December
2009 that it hereby approves the expression of appreciation to Isaiah McGee for servic to the citizens of
Waukee.
