RESOLUTION 08-183
APPROVING,PURSUANT TO IOWA CODE §364.12(2)(a),OF THE CLOSING OF
SIXTH STREET FROM THE NORTH SIDE OF LOCUST NORTH TO SOUTH SIDE
OF ASHWORTH DRIVE AND CLOSING WALNUT STREET FROM THE ALLEY
WEST OF THE HARDWARE STORE EAST TO THE WEST SIDE OF FIFTH STREET
AND CLOSING ASHWORTH DRIVE FROM THE WEST SIDE OF FIFTH STREET TO
THE EAST SIDE OF SIXTH STREET,BEGINNING 12:00 P.M.ON THURSDAY,
AUGUST 21,2008 AND ENDING 9:00 A.M.ON SUNDAY,AUGUST 24,2008,FOR THE
PURPOSE OF THE WAUKEE FALL FESTIVAL
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee and the Waukee Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a
Fall Festival celebration August 22-23;AND,
WHEREAS,the Fall Festival is located in the downtown area where vendors,entertainers,
entertaining,resting and eating areas are located on streets,grounds,sidewalks,and other public
spaces accessible by the public except by motorized vehicle;AND,
WHEREAS,pursuant to §364.12(2)(a),public ways and grounds may be temporarily closed by
resolution.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
4th day of August 2008 that it hereby approves temporarily closing Sixth Street from the north
side of Locust north to south side of Ashworth Drive and closing Walnut Street from the alley
west of the Hardware Store east to the west side of Fifth Street and closing Ashworth Drive from
the west side of Fifth Street to the east side of Sixth Street,beginning 12:00 P.M.on Thursday,
August 21,2008 and ending 9:00 A.M.on Sunday,August 24,2008,for the purpose of the
Waukee Fall Festival.~
