RESOLUTION 08-205
ACCEPTING IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (IDOT)GRANT FUNDS
RELATED TO THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC AND
CRIMINAL SOFTWARE (TraCS)AND HARDWARE
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State ofIowa,is a duly organized Municipal
Organization;AND,
WHEREAS,the Iowa Department of Transportation's Office of Driver Services has awarded
grant funds to the Waukee Police Department to assist in purchasing equipment for expanded use
of the Traffic and Criminal Software system (TraCS);AND,
WHEREAS,the grant is for SO%reimbursement to the Waukee Police Department for the
purchase of three (3)laptop computers with mounting equipment,bar code scanners,printers and
printer mounting solutions,not to exceed $16,500 (capping the reimbursement at $13,200);
AND,
WHEREAS,in addition,the grant will reimburse SO%of the cost of installation if the
installation is done by a third party,not to exceed $600 per vehicle (capping the reimbursement
at $4S0 per vehicle);AND,
WHEREAS,the Waukee City Council wishes to acknowledge the efforts of the Waukee Police
Department in applying for and securing this generous grant from mOT;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
Sthday of September 200S that the Iowa Department of Transportation (mOT)grant funds
related to the purchase and installation of Traffic and Criminal Software (TraCS)are hereby
accepted.
