RESOLUTION 05-181 I
APPROVING 28E AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF WAUKEE AND THE
WEST DES MOINES WATER WORKS
BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR WATER METER READING
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,Des Moines Water Works,who has been reading the Waukee water meters
informed the City on August 24,2005 that it would no longer provide the service of meter
reading to the City of Waukee and the City of Clive;AND,
WHEREAS,Waukee and Clive interviewed three companies for water meter reading and those
compames were:
SL-Serco
Alliant Energy
West Des Moines Water Works;AND,
WHEREAS,the City of West Des Moines had the lowest bid plus meter reading experience and
a similar format to both Waukee and Clive;AND,
WHEREAS,the City of West Des Moines will provide the water meter reading service to the
City for a period ofthree years beginning November 1,2005 with cost beginning at $.65 per
meter read and increasing each year by $.05 so that the second year is $.70 per meter read and
the third year is $.75 per meter read.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
19th day of September 2005 that it hereby approves the 28E Agreement with the City of West
Des Moines beginning November 1,2005.
