RESOLUTION 05-198
APPROVING THE IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
FEDERAL-AID AGREEMENT FOR THE SURFACE TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM
PROJECT FOR EXPANSION AND IMPROVEMENT OF
UNIVERSITY AVENUE FROM WACO PLACE TO WEST OF ALICE'S ROAD,
PROJECT NO.STP-U-8177(60S)-70-2S,AGREEMENT NO.40S-STPU-029
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,Iowa Code Sections 306A.7 and 307.44 provide for the Recipient of Federal-aid in
the State ofIowa to enter into an agreement with the Iowa Department of Transportation (IDOT)
for the purpose of financing transportation improvement projects on streets and highways in
Iowa with Federal funds AND,
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee applied for and received a Surface Transportation Program
(STP)grant in the amount of $79:>(JDD for FY05 later moved to FY06 through the Des
Moines Area MFO;AND,'
WHEREAS,the STP funds,awarded to the City of Waukee,are availahle for construction,
reconstruction,rehabilitation,resurfacing,restoration and operational improvements to highways
and bridges and are to be administered through IDOT;AND,I
WHEREAS,these funds are to he used for the expansion and improvement including PCC
paving on University Avenue from Waco Place to West of Alice's Road.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
17th day of October 2005 that it hereby approves the Federal-aid Agreement No.405-STPU-029
with the Iowa Department of Transportation for the University venue Wideni g project.
