RESOLUTION 05-212 ]
APPROVING,PURSUANT TO IOWA CODE §364.12(2)(a),THE CLOSING OF
ASHWORTH DRIVE FROM FIFTH STREET TO SIXTH STREET FOR THE
INSTALLATION OF A TEMPORARY SCULPTURE AT TRIANGLE PARK,
BEGINNING 8:00 A.M.NOVEMBER 19,2005 AND ENDING 5:00 P.M.NOVEMBER 19,
2005
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,Steve Gerberich is an installation artist and native of Waukee,Iowa;AND,
WHEREAS,Mr.Gerberich has requested that he be allowed to install a large,temporary
sculpture at Triangle Park for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season;AND,
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee fully supports the project as a positive,if temporary,addition
to the community that will bring residents and visitors to the Triangle area and help promote both
the community and the arts;AND,
WHEREAS,in order for the sculpture to installed in a safe and expedient manner,MI.
Gerberich has requested that Ashworth Drive be temporarily closed;AND,]
WHEREAS,pursuant to §364.l2(2)(a),Public ways and grounds may be temporarily closed by
resolution.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
17'h day of November 2005 that it hereby approves temporarily closing of Ashworth Drive from
Fifth Street to Sixth Street for the installation of a temporary sculpture at Triangle Park,
beginning 8:00 A.M.November 19,2005 and ending 5:00 P.M.November 19,2005.
