RESOLUTION 05-219
APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING STAFF TO SEND REQUESTS FOR PROPOSALS FOR
THE PURPOSE OF DESIGN SERVICES FOR KEY CORNER INTERSECTIONS AS
DESIGNATED FOR THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Waukee has recognized that there
are many intersections within the community that should be designated as "key comer"intersections
due to their present or future locations along major roadways leading into the city;AND,
WHEREAS,the intersections so designated as "key comer"intersections are:
Alice's Road/Ashworth Road
Alice's Road/Westown Parkway
Alice's Road/University Avenue
Alice's RoadlHickman Road
Hickman Road/1 O'h Street
Ute Avenue/Ashworth Road;AND,
WHEREAS,the Planning and Zoning Commission believes that these "key comer"intersections
should be designed with landscaping,hard surfacing,sculpture,public art,or other visually interesting
features that would enhance the overall esthetic quality of these intersections;AND,
WHEREAS,City Staff fully support the "key comer"intersection design concept.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this 21't
day of November 2005 that it hereby approves and authorizes City staff to send requests for proposals
for the purpose of design services for key comer intersections as designated for the City of Waukee,
Iowa.
