HomeMy WebLinkAbout2005-12-19-Resolutions 05-233_Recognition - ObermanTHE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA RESOLUTION 05-233 APPROVING THE RECOGNITION OF THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF OUTGOING MAYOR TONY OBERMAN IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA WHEREAS,Tony Oberman has served the City of Waukee as mayor from April 2003 through December 2005;AND, WHEREAS,while serving as mayor,Tony has represented the City of Waukee as a delegate on several trips to Washington,D.C.with the Greater Des Moines Partnership;AND, WHEREAS,by instituting the Developer's Roundtable meeting,Tony has tirelessly worked to improve communication between City officials and builders/developers;AND, WHEREAS,he has initiated the many activities concerning the Employee Benefits Review Committee;AND, WHEREAS,Tony has actively solicited new citizen members for appointment to the City's many boards,committees and commissions;AND, WHEREAS,he has worked diligently to promote positive relationships between Dallas County and neighboring communities;AND, WHEREAS,his overall commitment to the betterment of Waukee for all its residents is an excellent example of public service. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Waukee,Iowa does hereby approve the recognition of Tony Oberman and thank him for his contributions to the City of Waukee,this day the 19th of December 2005. Bill Peard JeffV.Mertz Darlene Stanton AYE X X X X X NAY ABSENT THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA RESOLUTION 05-234 APPROVING THE RECOGNITION OF THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF OUTGOING COUNCIL MEMBER NICHOLAS GRUBER IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA WHEREAS,Nicholas Gruber has served the City of Waukee as a member ofthe City Council for 16 years from 1989 through 2005;AND, WHEREAS,Nick has been the only council member to be elected to four consecutive four-year terms of office;AND, WHEREAS,while serving on City Council,Nick has diligently pursued quality economic development for the community;AND, WHEREAS,he has worked tirelessly to improve and promote the City's park facilities and infrastructure,to be enjoyed by resident and visitor alike;AND, WHEREAS,Nick helped to spearhead the purchase and implementation of the equipment and software necessary for the broadcast of City meetings and community events on local cable channel 7;AND, WHEREAS,his overall commitment to the betterment of Waukee for all its residents is an outstanding example of public service. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Waukee,Iowa does hereby approve the recognition of Nicholas Gruber and thank him for his innumerable contributions to the City of Waukee,this day the 19th of December 2005.
