RESOLUTION 05-89
APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A GPS UNIT FROM IOWA TRANSIT IN
THE AMOUNT OF $37,475.00
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORiTY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the Engineering Division of the Public Works Department has requested
the purchase of a GPS Unit;AND,
WHEREAS,the purchase ofthe GPS Unit would permit the Engineering Division to
perform preliminary and construction surveying and enter data into the City's GIS
System;AND,
WHEREAS,of the two bids received by the City,the Iowa Transit bid of$36,675.00
plus the $800.00 needed to connect from the GPS to the GIS or $37,475 was the most
reasonable bid for the product to be purchased;AND,
WHEREAS,John Gibson,Public Works Director,and Engineering Division personnel
recommend the purchase of this unit.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session this 6th day of~2005 that it hereby approves the purchase of the GPS Unit
from Iowa Transit in tI?e'ain'lllmt of$37,475.00
