HomeMy WebLinkAbout2006-06-26-Resolutions 06-131_Ashworth Asphalt Overlay - Award ContractRESOLUTION 06-131 AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE ASHWORTH DRIVE ASPHALT OVERLAY FOR THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA ] WHEREAS,pursuant to notice duly published in the manner and form prescribed by resolution of this Council and as required by law,bids and proposals were received by the City Clerk and reported to this Council for the construction of the Ashworth Drive asphalt overlay (the "Project");and WHEREAS,all of the said bids and proposals have been carefully considered, and it is necessary and advisable that provision be made for the award of the contract for the Project; NOW,THEREFORE,IT IS RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee,Iowa,as follows: Section 1.The bid for the Project submitted by the following contractor is fully responsive to the plans and specifications for the Project,heretofore approved by the Council,and is the lowest responsible bid received,such bid being as follows: Name and Address of Contractor Amount of Bid Grimes Asphalt &Paving Corp. P.O.Box 139 Grimes,IA 50111 $121,200.00 Section 2.The contract for the Project is hereby awarded to such contractor at the total estimated cost set out above,the final settlement to be made on the basis of the unit prices therein set out and the actual final quantities of each class of materials furnished,the said contract to be subject to the terms of the aforementioned resolution, the notice of hearing and letting,the plans and specifications and the terms of the bidder's written proposal. Section 3.The amount of the contractor's performance and/or payment bonds is hereby fixed and determined to be 100%of the amount of the contract. Section 4.The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a written contract with said contractor for the Project,but only after receipt of performance and lor payment surety bonds from the contractor and receipt of a written determination from either the City Attorney or Project Engineer that such surety bonds are satisfactory.The fully executed contract and surety bonds shall be deemed to be approved,in accordance with Section 384.100 of the Code of Iowa,without additional City Council action,unless requested by the City Attorney or Project Engineer.I Section 5.All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. Attest: ROLL CALL VOTE Donald L.Bailey,Jr. Isaiah McGee Jeff Mertz Darlene Stanton Mike Watts AYE X X X X X NAY ABSENT THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA RESOLUTION 06-132 APPROVING A SECURITY INFORMATION POLICY PURSUANT TO IOWA CODE §22.7(52)(2006) IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State ofIowa,is a duly organized Municipal Organization;AND, WHEREAS,the City Council wishes to adopt a Security Information Policy for the protection of city employees;visitors to city facilities;persons in city care,custody or control;and for the protection of city property;AND, WHEREAS,the City Council has determined that certain confidential information developed and maintained by the City concerning security procedures and emergency preparedness,if disclosed,could reasonably be expected to jeopardize such employees, visitors,persons or property;AND,
