RESOLUTION 06-190
APPROVAL OF ALLOCATING FUNDS FOR PARTICIPATION BY THE WAUKEE
PUBLIC LIBRARY IN A STRATEGIC PLANNING SESSION
IN THE NAME AND BY THE A UTHORJTY OF THE CITY OF WA UKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State ofIowa,is a duly organized Municipal
Organization;AND,
WHEREAS,the Waukee Public Library Board of Trustees and the Libr31Y Director have
proposed participation in a session entitled The New Planningfor Results:Helping Your Library
Create a Powerful Strategic Plan,which would assist the Library in formulating and
coordinating goals that serve the members of the Waukee community;AND,
WHEREAS,the session would be moderated by Mr.Roy Kenagy,administrator of the Central
Iowa Library Service Area (CILSA)and would involve a number of Library staff,Board of
Trustees members and community members;AND,
WHEREAS,the session would be run at no cost to the city,but would entail some incidental
costs in order to complete the project;AND,
WHEREAS,the Waukee Public Library requests an amount not to exceed $1,500.00 based on
actual invoices in order to fund the following as part of participation in the session:
1.Lunch for approximately 20 community members during a five-hour planning
session;
2.Breakfast for Libr31Y staff and wages for the time involved in planning session
3.Snacks for the follow-up meeting with the 20 community members to review the
draft plan
4.Postage and copying costs for the project
5.Other miscellaneous costs for completion of the project;AND,
WHEREAS,the funds requested by the Waukee Pnblic Libr31Y shall come from the City of
Waukee reserve funds.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
25th day of September 2006 that ithereby approves the allocation offunds for participation by
the Waukee Public Library in a strategic planning session.

APPROVAL OF THE WAUKEE BROADCAST SYSTEM CABLE CHANNEL 7
POLICY AND GUIDELINES
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Iowa,is a duly organized municipality within Dallas County;
AND,
WHEREAS,in September 2002,the City began the broadcast of live and taped programs and
community billboards oflocal governmental activities and other events of value and interest to
the community at large;AND,
WHEREAS,the City has previously operated Waukee Broadcast System Cable Channel 7
without an official policy or guidelines for community submittals and broadcasts;AND,
WHEREAS,it is in the best interest of the City at this time to approve and adopt the Waukee
Broadcast System Cable Channel 7 Policy and Guidelines,which is attached hereto and by tills
reference is incorporated herein.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee,Iowa on
this the 25th day of September 2006 that the Waukee Broadcast System Cable Channel 7 Policy
and Guidelines is hereby approved.
