RESOLUTION 06-49
APPROVING THE REQUIREMENT OF A $35.00 YELLOW APPLIANCE STICKER
FOR MORE THAN ONE APPLIANCE OF THE SAME KIND PER RESIDENT
DURING THE CITY WIDE CLEAN-UP
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,Waste Management has brought it to the City's attention that there have been
residents who have put out multiple appliances of the same kind during the City Wide Clean-up.
(Examples -two stoves,three dryers,etc.);AND,
WHEREAS,the City Wide Clean-up takes place every year and it would be highly unusual for a
resident to have multiple appliances ofthe same kind that need to be picked up;AND,
WHEREAS,requiring an appliance sticker on the disposal of more than one appliance of the
same kind per resident during the City Wide Clean-up would discourage commercial property
owners and out oftown residents from taking advantage of the residents of Waukee who have
paid to have the Wide Clean-up available to them each year;AND,
WHEREAS,the cost of the appliance sticker is based on the appliance removal rate set forth by
Waste Management;AND,
WHEREAS,in a situation where the cost of an appliance sticker may cause a hardship to a
resident,they may contact the Waukee Public Works Department to make arrangements for the
additional appliance pick-up;AND,
WHEREAS,The Utility Committee approved the recommendation at the March 21,2006
Utility Committee Meeting,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
3rd day of April 2006 that it hereby approves the requirement of a purchased yellow appliance
sticker for more than one appliance of the same kind per resident during the City Wide Clean-up.

RESOLUTION 06-50
APPROVAL OF THE APPOINTMENT OF CLINT ROBINSON AS FIRE CHIEF FOR
THE YEAR 2006
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas County;
AND,
WHEREAS,the fire chief shall be appointed yearly by the members of the volunteer fire
department,with approval of the City Council;AND,
WHEREAS,the fire department appointed Clint Robinson as Fire Chief at their March 27,2006
meeting;AND,
WHEREAS,Clint Robinson has been a vital and active member of the fire department since
April 1992.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Waukee,Iowa in session
this 3'd day of April 2006,does hereby approve the appointment of Clint Robinson as Fire Chief
for the Year 2006.
