APPROVAL,PURSUANT TO IOWA CODE §364.12(2)(a),OF THE CLOSING OF THE
SIXTH (6TH)STREET PARKING AREA IN FRONT OF THE WAUKEE COMMUNITY
CENTER FOR THE RAGBRAI PUBLICITY COMMITTEE "PANCAKE FEED,"6:00 A.M.ON
APRIL 15,2006 AND ENDING 2:00 P.M.ON APRIL 15,2006
INTHENAMEANDBYTHEAUTHORITYOFTHECITYOFWAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee shall be an overnight stop on Tuesday,July 25,2006 for the
Des Moines Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI);AND,
WHEREAS,Waukee's RAGBRAI Publicity Committee wishes to promote the overnight stop,
as well as raise funds to help with the costs associated with hosting such a large-scale event;
AND,
WHEREAS,the Committee will be sponsoring a Pancake Feed on Saturday,April 15,2006
from 7:00 a.m.to 11 :00 a.m.at the Waukee Community Center;AND,
WHEREAS,the Committee has requested that the parking area along Sixth (6th)Street in front
of the Community Center be temporarily closed in order for tables and seating to be placed
outside,weather permitting;AND,1
WHEREAS,pursuant to §364.l2(2)(a),Public ways and grounds may be temporarily closed by
resolution.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
10'h day of April 2006 that it hereby approves the temporary closing of the parking area along
Sixth (6th)Street in front of the Waukee Community Center beginning 6:00 a.m.on April 15,
2006 and ending 2:00 p.m.on April 15,2006.
