RESOLUTION 06-91 I
CLARIFYING THE LANGUAGE IN SECTION 220 OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE
PERSONNEL POLICY AND PROCEDURE MANUAL
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,due to some revisions to the Fair Labor Standards Act have given rise to
ambiguities in City of Waukee Personnel Policy and Procedure Manual relative to exempt and
non-exempt employees;AND,
WHEREAS,in an effort to avoid ambiguities,the language in Section 220 governing
exempt/non-exempt employee status should be cleaned up so as to better contemplate the
potential for future modification to the Fair Labor Standards Act.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
1st day of May 2006 that Section 220 in the City of Waukee Personnel Policy and Procedure
Manual should be and the same amended to reflect as follows:
Below Section 220:
Exempt/Non-Exempt Employee Status.Exempt employees who are not covered by the]
overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.These employees are not eligible to
receive overtime compensation.
Non-exempt employees who are not covered by the prOVISIOns of the Fair Labor
Standards Act.These employees are eligible to receive overtime compensation.
