RESOLUTION 06-102 I
APPROVAL,PURSUANT TO IOWA CODE §364.12(2)(A),OF THE CLOSING OF
WARRIOR LANE NORTH OF ASHWORTH DRIVE TO S.E.MARSHALL DRIVE,
SOUTH ON S.E CARDINAL LANE,WEST ON S.E.OLSON DRIVE,NORTH ON
ALICE'S ROAD FOR THE REGISTER'S ANNUAL GREAT BIKE RIDE ACROSS
IOWA (RAGBRAI)EXIT OUT OF THE CITY,WITH SAID STREET CLOSING
BEGINNING AT 4:00 A.M.ON WEDNESDAY JULY 26,2006 AND ENDING AT 3:00
P.M.ON JULy 26,2006
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the Waukee Community is an overnight host to the Register's 34th Annual Great
Bike Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI);AND,
WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Waukee promotes a safe route into the City on July
25,2006 and a safe exit from the City on July 26,2006;AND,
WHEREAS,the Des Moines Register's RAGBRAI Organizing Committee recommends the
streets be temporarily closed for the event;AND,]WHEREAS,pursuant to §364.12(2)(a),Public ways and grounds may be temporarily closed by
resolution.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
15th day of May 2006 that it hereby approves the temporary closing of Warrior Lane north of
Ashworth Drive to S.E.Marshall Drive,south on S.E Cardinal Lane,west on S.E.Olson Drive,
north on Alice's Road for the Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI)exit
out of the City,with said street closing beginning at 4:00 a.m,on Wednesday July ,2006 and
ending at 3:00 p.m.on July 26,2006.
