RESOLUTION 10-14
APPROVING A RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION FOR JERRY STEELE
FOR IDS 20 YEARS OF SERVICE AS A MEMBER OF THE PLANNING AND ZONING
COMMISSION
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,Jerry Steele began serving on the City of Waukee Planning and Zoning
Commission in January 1990;AND,
WHEREAS,after 20 years of distinguished service,Jerry has chosen to step down from the
Planning and Zoning Commission;AND,
WHEREAS,when Jerry started on the Planning and Zoning Commission,the City of Waukee's
population stood at 2,512,while the 2010 population is projected to include over 12,000
residents;AND,
WHEREAS,Jerry's exemplary service on the Planning and Zoning Commission over the course
of such unprecedented growth has helped to shape and direct the course of community
development in a positive direction;AND,
WHEREAS,his leadership,knowledge,enthusiasm and commitment to thoughtful planning
have been instrumental in assisting the Waukee City Council to make informed decisions about
development.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
1St!,day of January 2010 that it hereby recognizes Jerry Steele for his impressive 20 years of
service to the City of Waukee as a Planning and Zoning Commissioner and expresses its sincere
appreciation for his work toward the positive growth of the community.
