RESOLUTION 10-60
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A CITY PERSONNEL COMMITTEE
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State ofIowa,is a duly organized Municipal
Organization;AND,
WHEREAS,City Council of the City of Waukee is desirous of establishing a City Personnel
Committee;AND,
WHEREAS,the general purpose of the City Personnel Committee shall be to assist the Mayor
and City Council in carrying out their duties relative to provision of City Services and
operational efficiencies.The Committee shall present a report and any recommendations it may
have to the City Council for consideration and action.Specific duties of the committee shall be
the following:
A.Conduct meetings with the City Administrator quarterly,or more frequently if desired
by the Committee.
B.Working with the City Administrator in reviewing City personnel policies and giving
recommendations regarding the same.Reviewing present and future personnel needs
of the City and making recommendations regarding personnel planning and
appropriate personnel levels.
C.Gather all performance evaluation reviews of the City Administrator and compile into
a single review for discussion and approval by the City Council.
D.Reviewing wage ranges and benefits of City employees not represented by unions and
making recommendations regarding said wage and salary ranges.
E.Reviewing wage ranges and benefit proposals of the City's union representatives and
making recommendations regarding said proposals.
F.Prepare minutes of its meetings for submission to the City Council.
G.Perform other tasks as may be otherwise assigned by the City Council,
The Committee shall consist of the Mayor and two council members appointed by the Mayor,
upon the creation of the committee,and armually thereafter commencing in calendar year 2011 at
the time of other Mayoral appointments.If the Committee believes that a policy,decision,or
procedure related to the foregoing matters is in need of change,the committee shall submit its
recommendations,if any,to the City Council for consideration.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
8th day of March,20 I 0,that the Resolution Establishing a City Personnel Committee is hereby
approved as set forth above.
