APPROVING THE SETTING OF MAY 10,2010 AS THE DATE OF PliBLIC HEARING
ON THE ANNEXATION OF CONSENTING AND NON-CONSENTING PROPERTIES
BY THE CITY OF WAUKEE,lOW A,WITH CONSIDERATION OF THE
ANNEXATION TAKING PLACE IMMEDIATELY THEREAFTER
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State ofIowa,is a duly organized Municipal
Organization;AND,
WHEREAS,City staff has received applications for voluntary annexation of certain properties
and proposes the annexation of additional,non-consenting property as part of an 80/20
annexation as provided for in the Code ofIowa;AND,
WHEREAS,a consultation meeting regarding annexation was held on March 18,2010 between
and among the City of Waukee,Dallas County Board of Supervisors,Adel Township Board of
Trustees,Van Meter Township Board of Trustees,and Walnut Township Trustees pursuant to
Section 368.7(1)(b)of the Code oflowa;AND,
WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 368.7(1)(d)of the Code ofIowa,the City shall provide for a
public hearing on annexation prior to approval or denial;AND,
WHEREAS,notification of the public hearing shall include the following Notice of Public
Hearing:

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS CONCERNING APPLICATIONS FOR VOLUNTARY
ANNEXATION INTO THE CITY OF WAUKEE
The City of Waukee has received applications for the Voluntary Annexation of property into the
City of Waukee,Iowa.NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of public hearings to be held to consider
the Applications for Voluntary Annexation into the City of Waukee.The public hearings have
been set for 5:00 p.m.on May 10,2010 and shall be held at the City of Waukee Council
Chambers located at Waukee City Hall,230 W.Hickman Road,Waukee,Iowa.As provided by
State Law,additional land is being included in the annexation proposals,without the consent of
the owners,to avoid the creation of an island and/or to create more uniform boundaries.After the
public hearings the Waukee City Council will take action concerning the proposed annexations.
The City will be conducting public hearings on two annexation proposals concerning the
voluntary annexation applications.Published with this Notice is the legal description and map of
the territory included in each proposal being considered at the public hearings referenced above.
The Applications for Voluntary Annexation which are the subject of the proposals being
considered are available for viewing at the Clerk's Office at the Waukee City Hall located at 230
W.Hickman Road in the City of Waukee,Iowa.Additional information concerning the
annexation proposals may be obtained from the City Administrator by calling (515)987-4522.
The public is invited to participate in said hearings at the time and place referenced in this notice.
