RESOLUTION 10-119
APPROVING THE SETTING OF JUNE 14,2010 AS THE DATE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ON THE ANNEXATION OF CONSENTING PROPERTIES BY THE CITY OF
WAUKEE,IOWA,WITH CONSIDERATION OF THE ANNEXATION TAKING
PLACE IMMEDIATELY THEREAFTER
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State ofIowa,is a duly organized Municipal
Organization;AND,
WHEREAS,City staff has received applications for voluntary annexation of certain properties;
AND,
WHEREAS,a consultation meeting regarding annexation was held on February 26,2010
between and among the City of Waukee,Dallas County Board of Supervisors,and Van Meter
Township Trustees pursuant to Section 368.7(1)(b)of the Code ofIowa;AND,
WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 368.7(1)(d)of the Code ofIowa,the City shall provide for a
public hearing on annexation prior to approval or denial;AND,
WHEREAS,notification of the public hearing shall include the following Notice of Public
Hearing:

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING CONCERNING APPLICATION FOR VOLUNTARY
ANNEXATION INTO THE CITY OF WAUKEE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of a public hearing on an Application for Voluntary Annexation
into the City of Waukee.The public hearing has been set for 5:00 p.m.on June 14,2010 and
shall be held at the City of Waukee Council Chambers located at Waukee City Hall,230 W.
Hickman Road,Waukee,Iowa.After the public hearing the Waukee City Council will take
action conceming the annexation.
The Application for Voluntary Annexation is available for viewing at the Clerk's Office at the
Waukee City Hall located at 230 W.Hickman Road in the City of Waukee,Iowa.Published with
this Notice is the legal description and map of the territory which the Waukee City Council will
consider annexing at the public hearing referenced above.
Legal Description:
The East 80 acres of the Southeast Fractional y.,in Section 18,Township 78 North,Range 26
West,Boone Township,Dallas County,Iowa,and;
The East Yz of the Northeast Y,of Section 19,Township 78 North,Range 26 West,Boone
Township,Dallas County,Iowa.
Containing 157.47 acres more or less including 5.72 acres of right of way more or less.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee,Iowa,in
session this 3rd day of May,2010,that it hereby approves setting June 14,2010 as the date for a
Public Hearing on the Annexation identified in the Notice of Public Hearing,
