RESOLUTION 10-183
APPROVING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES PROPOSAL FROM GENUS
LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTS FOR SERVICES RELATED TO COPELAND
RECREATION AND SPORTS COMPLEX IMPROVEMENT PROJECT,PHASE I
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State ofIowa,is a duly organized Municipal
Organization;AND,
WHEREAS,as part of the City of Waukee Capital Improvements Plan,the Waukee City
Council has committed up to $1 million in matching funds relative to Phase I improvements to
the Copeland Recreation and Sports Complex,with the other half of the funding coming from
fundraising efforts by interested,independent organizations;AND,
WHEREAS,the proposed Phase I improvements include soccer fields and softball diamonds,as
well as other amenities,on the southern 80 acres of the Complex property;AND;
WHEREAS,City staff and a selection committee reviewed proposals from three consultants
relative to the proposed Phase I improvements,and recommend approval ofthe proposal
submitted by Genus Landscape Architects of Des Moines;AND,
WHEREAS,the City Attorney has reviewed the proposed Professional Services Proposal from
Genus Landscape Architects and finds it satisfactory.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
7'11 day of June,2010,that the Professional Services Proposal from Genus Landscape Architects
for services related to Copeland Recreation and Sports Complex Improvement p ..ect,Phase I,
is hereby accepted and approved.
