RESOLUTION 10-196
APPROVING REVISIONS TO THE CITY OF WAUKEE EMPLOYEE HANDBOOK,
INCLUDING PROVISIONS RELATED TO SEAT BELT USE,RESIDENCY AND USE OF
CITY EQUIPMENT
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State ofIowa,is a duly organized Municipal
Organization;AND,
WHEREAS,certain changes must be made to the City of Waukee Employee Handbook to
account for changes in the FY20ll CWA Collective Bargaining Unit agreement,as well as
revisions in State ofIowa law;AND,
WHEREAS,said changes are attached hereto as Exhibit A;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee,Iowa on
this 21 st day of June,2010 that the revisions to the City of Waukee Employee Handbook,
including provisions related to seat belt use,residency and use of City equipment,are approved.

170.Residency
The employer agrees to implement a residency requirement only for positions where response
time is an essential function ofthe position and/or mandated by law.
536.Personal Use of City Equipment
Use of City Vehicles -City issued vehicles shall be used to carry out official city business and
activities.City Vehicles shall not be used to transport private citizens unless in an emergency or
authorized by the respective department director.
Employees issued city vehicles shall not use them as transportation between work and home
unless in conjunction with on-call duties as approved by the respective department director.
Use of City Equipment -No employee or representative of the City is permitted to use
City Equipment for personal use.

NEW SECTION Seat Belt Policy
Seat belts are required to be wom in Iowa and must be used by City employees at all times while
performing work for the City.This includes all personal and work vehicles which have factory
installed seat belts including skid loaders,utility carts,backhoes,and mowers which have a Roll
Over Protection Structure (ROPS).
