RESOLUTION 10-232
APPROVING REVISIONS TO JOB DESCRIPTIONS FOR CERTAIN SPECIFIC
POSITIONS WITHIN THE PUBLIC WORI<S DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF
WAUKEE
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State ofIowa,is a duly organized Municipal
Organization;AND,
WHEREAS,revisions within the job descriptions for the following Public Works Department
positions are proposed:
•Director of Public Works,
•Assistant Director of Public Works,
•Water-Wastewater Superintendent,
•Water-Wastewater Laborer I,
•Water Operator,
•Wastewater Operator,
•Wastewater Laborer II,
•Gas Superintendent,
•Gas Laborer II,
•Street Superintendent,
•Street Laborer I,
•Utility Laborer I,
•Utility Locator,
•Equipment Operator-Crew Leader,
•Maintenance Mechanic,
•Parks and Recreation Director,
•Recreation Supervisor,
•Parks Supcrintcndent.;AND,
WHEREAS,the proposed revisions include the requirement of residency within a 3D-minute
travel radius ofthe City of Waukee in order to respond to emergency calls in a timely manner,as
well as minor "housekeeping"revisions;AND,
WHEREAS,the proposed revisions have been reviewed and approved by the City Attomey;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee,Iowa on
this the 9th day of August,2010,that it hereby approves the revisions to job descriptions for
certain specific positions within the Public Works Department of the City of Waukee.
