RESOLUTION 10-262
APPROVING LEASE AGREEMENT ADDENDUM BETWEEN DOWNING
DEVELOPMENT,LTD.,AND THE CITY OF WAUKEE RELATED TO
WAREHOUSE SPACE
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas
County;AND,
WHEREAS,on October 6,2008,the Waukee City Council approved a Lease Agreement
with Downing Development,Ltd.,for space located at 75 NE Venture Dr.,Suites I,J,K,
LmldM;AND,
WHEREAS,Public Works staff recommend extending the current lease agreement to
May 31,2011 after which time equipment stored at 75 NE Venture Dr.will be moved to
the new Public Works Facility currently under construction;AND,
WHEREAS,Downing Development,Ltd.,has provided an addendum to said Lease
Agreement effective on November 1,2010 and ending May 31,2011,for a base rental
rate of $39,456.00 per year,with additional rent in the amount of $20,544.00 per year for
real estate taxes,building insurance and C011l1nonarea maintenance;AND,
WHEREAS,the total initial monthly rent due under this addendum shall be $5,000.00
per month.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session this 4th day of October 201 0 that it hereby approves the addendum to the Lease
Agrccment between Downing Development,Ltd.,and the City of Waukee related to
warehouse space.
