RESOLUTION 10-279
APPROVING ENTERING INTO A LICENSE AGREEMENT -LOCAL
GOVERNMENTAL ENTITIES BETWEEN AMERICAN SOCIETY OF
COMPOSERS,AUTHORS AND PUBLISHERS (AS CAP)AND CITY OF WAUKEE,
IOWA,IN THE ANNUAL AMOUNT OF $305.00
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State ofIowa,is a duly organized
Municipal Organization;AND,
WHEREAS,the City currently plays licensed music at City-sponsored events,over the
government access cable channel,and "on hold"for telephone systems at some City facilities;
AND,
WlIEREAS,in order to comply with copyright law and on the advice of the City Attorney,
City staff recommend entering into a License Agreement -Local Governmental Entities with
American Society of Composers,Authors and Publishers (AS CAP)in the annual amount of
$305.00,a fee based on a population size of fewer than 50,000;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session
this 18th day of October 2010 that it hereby accepts and approves entering into a License
Agreement -Local Govermnental Entities between American Society of Composers,Authors
and Publishers (AS CAP)and City of Waukee,Iowa,in the annual amount 0 $305.00.
