RESOLUTION 10-280
APPROVING ENTERING INTO A MUSIC LICENSE FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT
ENTITIES AGREEMENT BETWEEN BROADCAST MUSIC,INC.(BMI)AND CITY
OF WAUKEE,IOWA,IN THE ANNUAL AMOUNT OF $305.00
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State of Iowa,is a duly organized
Municipal Organization;AND,
WHEREAS,the City currently plays licensed music at City-sponsored events,over the
government access cable channel,and "on hold"for telephone systems at some City facilities;
AND,
WHEREAS,in order to comply with copyright law and on the advice of the City Attomey,
City staff recommend entering into a Music License for Local Govermnent Entities
Agreement between Broadcast Music,Inc.(BMI)and City of Waukee,Iowa,in the annual
amount of$305.00,a fee based on a population size offewer than 50,000;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session
this 18'1.day of October 2010 that it hereby accepts and approves entering into a Music
License for Local Government Entities Agreement between Broadcast Music,Inc.(BMI)and
City ofWaulcee,Iowa,in the annual amount of $305.00.
