RESOLUTION 11-11
APPROVING THE MAYOR'S APPOINTMENT OF EX OFFICIO MEMBERS AND
VOTING MEMBER TO THE WAUKEE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
CORPORATION FOR THE YEAR 2011
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas
County;AND,
WHEREAS,the Waukee Economic Development Corporation was established as a non-
profit organization dedicated to the betterment of the quality oflife of Waukee citizens
through the promotion of responsible business development in the community;AND,
WHEREAS,the bylaws of the Waukee Economic Development Corporation state that the
Board of Directors of said group shall include ex-officio director positions consisting of the
sitting Mayor of Waukee,a sitting member of the Waukee City Council,and a member of the
Waukee City staff;AND,
WHEREAS,Mayor William F.Peard appoints Darlene Stanton as the City Council member
and City Administrator/Clerk Jeffrey L.Kooistra as the City staff member to the ex-officio
director positions of the Waukee Economic Development Corporation for the Year 2010;
AND,
WHEREAS,as a paying member,the WEDCO bylaws allow for the City of Waukee to
appoint a voting member to the WEDCO B081·d of Directors;AND,
WHEREAS,Mayor William F.Peard appoints himself as the City of Waukee representative
voting member to the WEDCO Board of Directors.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session
this io"day ofJanuary 2011,that it hereby approves the Mayor's appointment of the ex-
officio director positions and the voting member position to the Waukee Economic
Development Corporation for the Year 2011.
