RESOLUTION 11-47
AMENDING THE STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES RELATED TO
SCHOOLING REIMBURSEMENT FOR EMS EMPLOYEES
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Iowa is a duly organized muuicipa1ity within Dallas
County;AND,
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee Standard Operating Procedures do not adequately
address reimbursement for paramedic tuition when a grant related to said tuition is
received by the attendee;AND,
WHEREAS,in order to address the matter,City staff recommend adding the following
language to the Tuition Reimbursement Program section of the Standard Operating
Procedures:
Other Tuition Assistance -Grants
Any employee receiving tuition assistance,such as State or Federal Grant,may be
granted an adjusted reimbursement schedule,at the recommendation of the Fire
Chief and the approval of the City Administrator;AND,
WHEREAS,the proposed policy change will allow the City to adjust the length ofthe
pay-out schedule based on the grant received,without negatively impacting the City
budget.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session this 2151 day of March 2011 that it hereby approves amending the Standard
Operating Procedures related to schooling reimbursement for EMS employees.
