RESOLUTION 11-128
APPROVING A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING REGARDING THE
SOUTHWEST ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COOPERATIVE
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee ("Waukee"),Dallas County,State of Iowa,is a duly
organized Municipal Organization;AND,
WHEREAS,Waukee has been involved with discussions with the Cities of West Des
Moines,Norwalk and Cununing as well as with Dallas,Madison and Warren Counties
regarding strategic economic,land use,job creation and transportation planning issues related
to a conunon planning area;AND,
WHEREAS,a Memorandum of Understanding has been developed for the purposes of
formally establishing a Southwest Economic Development Cooperative for the purposes of
continuing discussions and strategies related to economic development within the cornmon
planning area.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee,Iowa
that the Memorandum of Understanding regarding the Southwest Economic Development
Cooperative shall be approved and the Mayor and City Administrator/Clerk are hereby
authorized to sign said Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of the City.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee,Iowa,and approved this the lith day of
July,2011.
