RESOLUTION 11-176
RECOGNIZING THE SERVICE OF DARLENE STANTON TO THE
CITY OF WAUKEE
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,Darlene Stanton has served as a Waukee City Council Member since June 2003;AND,
WHEREAS,due to a move out of state,Darlene has resigned from the council,effective October 18,
2011;AND,
"VHEREAS,while serving on the City Council,Darlene has acted as council liaison to many boards,
including those related to the Waukee Public Library,the Alice's Road Corridor Master Plan,and the
City Comprehensive Plan;the Developers Roundtable;Metro Advisory Committee (MAC);and
Waukee Economic Development Corporation (WEDCO);AND,
WHEREAS,Darlene also served as MayOTPro Tern in 2006,2007 and 2010;AND,
WHEREAS,Darlene has been a member of the City of Waukee delegation on various trips to
Washington,D.C.that successfully sought federal funding fOTthe Alice's Roadll05'h Street 1-80
Interchange;AND,
WHEREAS,as both an elected official and citizen,she has worked tirelessly to not only preserve
Waukee's heritage but to also plan for the future to help malce Waukee the vibrant and thriving
community it is today;
NOW THEREFORE be it resolved by the City of Waukee City Council in session this 26th day of
September,2011,that it hereby approves the expression of appreciation to Darlene Stanton fOTher
service to the citizens of Waukee.
