RESOLUTION 12-99
APPROVAL OF THE TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WALNUT STREET FROM 5TH
STREET WEST TO 6TH STREET,AND 6TH STREET FROM WALNUT STREET TO
ASHWORTH DRIVE ON TUESDAY,JULY 17,2012 BETWEEN THE HOURS OF
5:00 P.M.AND 9:00 P.M.FOR THE WAUKEE AREA ARTS COUNCIL
"JAZZ IN JULY"EVENT
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the Waukee Area Arts Council will sponsor "Jazz in July,"to be held in the
Downtown Triangle Area on Tuesday,July 17;AND,
WHEREAS,the Waukee Area Arts Council has requested that Walnut St.be closed from 5th
Street west to 6th Street and that 6th Street be closed from Walnut Street north to Ashworth Drive
between the hours of5:00 p.rn.and 9:00 p.m.for the event;AND,
WHEREAS,pursuant to §364.12(2)(a),public ways and grounds may be temporarily closed by
resolution;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
7'h day of May,2012,that it hereby approves the temporary closing of Walnut Street from 5th
Street west to 6th Street,and 6th Street from Walnut Street to Ashworth Drive on Tuesday,July
17,2012 between the hours of5:00 p.m.and 9:00 p.m.for the Waukee Area Arts Council "Jazz
in July"event.
