RESOLUTION ESTABLISIDNG THE PROCESS FOR THE SELECTION OF AN
EXECUTIVE SEARCH FIRM TO AID IN FILLING THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR
POSITION
INTHENAMEANDBYTHEAUTHORJTYOFTHECITYOFWAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee continues to be the fastest growing City in Iowa and important
public improvement proj ects slated to aid with present infrastructure burdens and enable to City
to place infrastructure enabling future development;AND
WHEREAS,the position of the City Administrator for the City needs to be permanently filled;
AND
WHEREAS,considering the importance of the position to the City,it is important that wben
filling the position the process seek to maximize the pool of potential qualified candidates,
include a thorough examination of the backgrounds and qualifications,and guide the City
through an appropriate evaluation process to best enable the City to fill the position with the best
available candidate;AND
WHEREAS,the City solicited proposals from companies providing services to fill vacant
executive positions in the private and public sectors;AND
WHEREAS,the City received proposals from 5 companies in the field all costing less than
$20,000.00 but providing varying degrees of services to fill the position of the City
Administrator;AND
WHEREAS,to assure a thorough evaluation of the proposals received it is desirable that the
City's Personnel Committee evaluate each of the proposals and recommend two proposals to the
City Council for the final selection of the search film to provide services to assist in the filling
the position of the City Administrator.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council that the City's
Personnel Committee evaluate each of the proposals and recommend two proposals to the City
Council for the final selection of the search firm to provide services to assist in the filling the
position of the City Administrator.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee,Iowa,and approved this the 31't day of July,
2012.
