RESOLUTION 12-174
APPROVING THE SETTING OF SEPTEMBER 10,2012 AS THE DATE OF PUBLIC
HEARING ON THE ANNEXATION OF CONSENTING PROPERTIES BY THE CITY
OF WAUKEE,IOWA,WITH CONSIDERATION OF THE ANNEXATION TAKING
PLACE IMMEDIATELY THEREAFTER
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State ofIowa,is a duly organized Municipal
Organization;AND,
WHEREAS,City staff has received an application for voluntary annexation of certain properties
as provided for in the Code ofIowa;AND,
WHEREAS,a consultation meeting regarding annexation was held on July 16,2012 between
and among the City of Waukee,Dallas County Board of Supervisors,and Boone Township
Board of Trustees pursuant to Section 368.7(l)(b)of the Code ofIowa;AND,
WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 368.7(1)(d)of the Code ofIowa,the City shall provide for a
public hearing on annexation prior to approval or denial;AND,
WHEREAS,notification of the public hearing shall include the following Notice of Public
Hearing:

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS CONCERNING APPLICATION FOR VOLUNTARY
ANNEXATION INTO THE CITY OF WAUKEE
The City of Waukee has received an Application for the Voluntary Annexation of certain
property into the City of Waukee,Iowa.A copy of the Application,legal description,and a map
depicting the location of the property and its relationship to the City is enclosed herewith for
your reference.You will also find enclosed a legal description of the territory to be annexed and
a map showing the combined territory to be annexed and its relationship to the City.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of a public hearing on the Application for Voluntary Annexation
into the City of Waukee.The public hearing has been set for 5:30 p.m.on Monday,September
10,2012 and shall be held at the City of Waukee Council Chambers located at Waukee City
Hall,230 W.Hickman Road,Waukee,Iowa.After the public healing the Waukee City Council
will take action concerning the annexation.
The Application for Voluntary Annexation is also available for viewing at the Clerk's Office at
the Waukee City Hall located at 230 W.Hickman Road in the City of Waukee,Iowa.Additional
information conceming the annexation proposal may be obtained from Brad Deets,Interim City
Administrator by calling (515)987-4522.
You are invited to participate in said hearing at the time and place referenced in this notice.It is
the responsibility of individuals with a disability requiring special accommodation to inform the
City Clerk's Office,by the close of business on the 6th day of September,2012,in order to allow

BEGINNING AT THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THE NORTHEAST QUARTER OF THE

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee,Iowa,in
session this 6th day of August,2012,that it hereby approves setting September 10,2012 as the
date for a Public Hearing on the Annexation identified in the Notice of Public Hearing.
