RESOLUTION 12-190
APPROVING DIRECTING CITY STAFF IN THE NEGOTIATION OF
CONTRACT TERMS WITH A PROFESSIONAL CONSULTANT FOR THE
CITY ADMINISTRATOR/CLERK SEARCH
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas County;
AND,
WHEREAS,the City has operated with an interim city administrator since May 7,2012;AND,
WHEREAS,the City Council reviewed proposals from five different executive search firms and
conducted interviews with two ofthose firms on August 28,2012,to help guide the City in the
search for the best candidates for the city administrator/clerk position;AND,
WHEREAS,after the interviews and much discussion,the City Council has determined that the
services of Slavin Management Consultants of Mesa,AZ,should be retained for the purpose of
conducting and administrating the city administrator/clerk search;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Waukee City Council that the City of
Waukee hereby directs City staff and the City Attomey in the negotiation of contract terms with
Slavin Management Consultants with said contract and terms to be reviewed and approved by
the Waukee City Council at a subsequent City Council meeting.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee,Iowa,and approved the 28th day of August,
2012.
