Home My WebLink About2012-09-10-Resolutions 12-197_500 6th St LLC - Downtown Facade Improvement Program - Grant AwardTHE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA RESOLUTION 12-197 APPROVAL OF A GRANT AWARD TO 500 6TH STREET AS PART OF THE DOWNTOWN FA<;:ADE IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State of Iowa,is a duly organized Municipal Organization;AND, WHEREAS,on March 5,2012,the Waukee City Council approved a Downtown Facade hnprovement Program (Resolution #12-50)to make fmancial assistance available to businesses,organizations,and property owners within Downtown Waukee for the preservation,maintanence,and general improvement of the physical appearances oftheir properties thereby creating an environment that is aesthetically pleasing and facilitates an increase in pedestrian traffic;AND, WHEREAS,on October 24,2011 the Waukee City Council approved the Downtown Design Guidelines (Resolution #11-202)that provide guidance for the exterior appearance of properties within specified areas of the Downtown;AND, WHEREAS,Brian Bean,owner of 500 6th Street,L.L.C.(d.b.a.-All Lines ofIowa Insurance)at 500 6th Street,has submitted a Facade Improvement Program Application requesting grant funding in the amount of $7,500.00 equal to half of the total project costs or less associated with replacing the siding on the building;AND, WHEREAS,the Facade Improvement Program Application submitted for the residing ofthe building at 500 6th Street is in conformance with the guidelines,terms,and conditions set forth in the Downtown Facade Improvement Program;AND, WHEREAS,Facade Improvement Program Grants are awarded as a reimbursement for the actual costs incurred by the applicant after the project has been completed;AND, WHEREAS,the Downtown Design Committee reviewed the Facade Improvement Program Application at their August 30,2012 meeting and reconnnended approval of the Downtown Facade Improvement Program Grant for 500 6th Street;AND, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this 10th day of September 2012 that a Grant Award in the amount of$7,500.00 is approved for the residing of 500 6th Street pending successful completion of improveme Attest: Bradly M.D~ts,Interim City Administrator/Clerk ROLL CALL VOTE Shane Blanchard Dan Dutcher Casey L.Harvey Shelly Hughes Mike Watts AYE X NAY X X X ABSENT X ABSTAIN
