RESOLUTION 12-229
APPROVING A RESIDENTIAL STREET ASSESSMENT POLICY
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State ofIowa,is a duly organized Municipal
Organization;AND,
WHEREAS,the Waukee City Council has had several discussions on the development of an
assessment policy for residential street construction and improvements;AND,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
15th day of October,2012,that it hereby approves the City of Waukee Residential Street
Assessment Policy,attached hereto as Exhibit A.

RESIDENTAL STREET ASSESSMENT POLICY
Definitions
"New Construction"is defined as street construction where there is no street or the existing street
is unimproved.
"Reconstruction"is defined as street improvements where there is an improved street.
"Improved street"is defmed as an existing hard surfaced street as determined solely by the City.
Assessable Project Costs
-Assessed project costs for Public Improvements shall include,but not be limited to,construction,
engineering,legal and administrative costs and generally will be assessed as follows:
-Projects classified as "New Construction"will have 100%of the eligible project costs assessed.
-Projects classified as "Reconstruction"will have 50%of the eligible project costs assessed;for
these proj ects.
This is a general statement of policy to be utilized for project planning purposes,The
determinations/allocations of benefits to property in a project area and special assessments for
each public improvement proj ect,will be made after due consideration of all relevant factors
specific to a project and the property to be assessed,as required by law.
