RESOLUTION 12-238
APPROVAL,PURSUANT TO IOWA CODE §364.12(2)(A),OF THE TEMPORARY
CLOSING OF CERTAIN PORTIONS OF STREETS FOR THE ARTHRITIS
FOUNDATION,HEARTLAND REGION,5KRUN EVENT WITH SAID STREET
CLOSING BEGINNING AT 10:00 A.M.AND ENDING AT APPROXIMATELY
12:00 P.M.ON SUNDAY,NOVEMBER 11,2012
IN THE NAME AND BY THE A UTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas County;
AND,
WHEREAS,a representative of the Arthritis Foundation,Heartland Region,intends to hold a
SK run event in Waukee on Sunday,November 11,2012;AND,
WHEREAS,the Arthritis Foundation requests that certain streets be closed temporarily for the
event route;AND,
WHEREAS,pursuant to §364.12(2)(a),public ways and grounds may be temporarily closed by
resolution.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
S'h day of November,2012,that it hereby approves the temporary closing of certain portions of
streets from 70 SE Laurel Street west to Kaylin Drive,south on Kaylin Drive to Windfield
Parkway,east on Windfield Parkway to Terrace Drive,south on Terrace Drive to Marshall
Drive,south and east on Marshall Drive to SE Cardinal Lane,south on SE Cardinal Lane to SE
Olson Drive,east on SE Olson Drive to SE Crabapple Drive,north on SE Crabapple Drive to SE
Laurel Street,west on SE Laurel Street to SE Dartmoor Drive,north on SE Dartmoor Drive to
SE Laurel Street,and west on SE Laurel Street to 70 SE Laurel Street,with said street closing
beginning at 10:00 a.m.and ending at approximately 12:00 p.m.on Sunday,November 11,2012.
