SIGNATORIES FOR THE CITY ACCOUNTS m ACCORDAl'{CE WITH GENERALLY
ACCEPTED ACCOUNTING STANDARDS
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City Administrator/Clerk of the City of Waukee has submitted his resignation
effective December 31,2005;AND,
WHEREAS,Denman &Company advise that accepted accounting standards dictate that the
City assure appropriate checks and balances are in place and that it is appropriate under the
circumstances for the City to provide for different check authorization procedures to assure that
checks and balances exist relative to City funds in light of the City Administrator's resignation;
AND
WHEREAS,the existing Deputy City Clerk,Rebecca Schuett,will be taking maternity leave in
the very near future and it is important that a replacement be appointed in her absence for check
authorization.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council that John ]
Gibson,Director of Public Works be authorized to execute checks on behalf of the City of
Waukee with Rebecca Schuett,Deputy City Clerk,jointly,in lieu of the current City
Administrator and Deputy City Clerk,-and that Linda Burkhart,15ii'ectorof Finance,continue as
alternate signatory until a permanent City Administrator has been selected and his/her
employment commenced,effective on tbe 6th day of December,2005.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council that upon Rebecca
Schuett,Deputy City Clerk,taking maternity leave that Larry Phillips,Chief of Police,shall be
authorized to execute checks on City accounts in her a jce,join with the other designee.
