RESOLUTION 13-033
APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN KUT AK ROCK,LLP,AND THE CITY OF
WAUKEE,IOWA,RELATED TO LOBBYING SERVICES
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas County;
AND,
WHEREAS,in 2007,2009,and 2011,the Cities of Waukee and West Des Moines mutually and
jointly agreed to retain the services of Kutak Rock,LLP,to represent the cities in order to
communicate with various officials about the need and justification for the ios?Street/Alice's
Road/I-80 Interchange project and associated roadway improvements (Waukee Resolutions #07-
141,#09-125 and #11-50);AND,
WHEREAS,the Cities of Waukee and West Des Moines have received a letter of agreement
from Kutak Rock,LLP,dated January 1,2013,related to representation of the cities in order to
communicate with various officials on certain appropriation and highway reauthorization
funding requests made to Iowa's congressional representatives;AND,
WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of West Des Moines approved the letter of agreement
on December 26,2012;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Waukee,Iowa,in session
this 19th day of February,2013,does hereby approve retaining the services of Kutak Rock,LLP,
to represent the Cities of Waukee and West Des Moines on the ios"Street/Alice's Road/I-80
Interchange project,pending approval by the City of West Des Moines.
