RESOLUTION 13-137
APPROVING THE USE OF STREET BANNERS FOR THE 2013
FARMERS MARKET
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State ofIowa,is a duly organized
Muuicipal Orgauization;AND,
WHEREAS,the Waukee Triangle Association sponsors and administers the Waukee Farmers
Market,which will take place in the Triangle Park area within the Downtown Triangle
Business District on Wednesdays from June 5,2012 to September 25,2012;AND,
WHEREAS,representatives of the Waukee Triangle Association request that they be allowed
to place banner signs advertising the event at numerous locations throughout the city;AND,
WHEREAS,Waukee Muuicipal Code §305.6(H)limits special event signage to one sign per
event and only to be located within Centenuial Park at the comer ofUuiversity Avenue and
Ashworth Drive,and at Triangle Park at the comer of 6th Street and Ashworth Drive;AND,
WHEREAS,Waukee Mnuicipal Code §305.6(D)notes that banners advertising a public
event are allowed,provided that specific approval is granted by the City Council;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session
this 3'-dday of June 2013 that the Waukee Triangle Association's request for additional street
banner signage for the 2013 Farmers Market is hereby approved,provided that such signs are
located on adjacent private property after permission to do so is obtained from the private
property owner.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all such approved signage shall be removed by the
Thursday morning of every week during which the Farmers Market shall take place.
