Home My WebLink About2016-11-07-Resolutions 16-474_380 6th St - Downtown Facade Improvement Program - Grant AwardTHE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA RESOLUTION 16-474 APPROVAL OF A GRANT AWARD TO WAUKKK HARDWARE AS PART OF THE DOWNTOWN FACADE IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM IN THENAMEAND BYTHEAUTHORITYOF THE CITYOF WAUKEE,IOWA WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State of Iowa,is a duly organized Municipal Organization;AND, WHEREAS,on March 5,2012,the Waukee City Council approved a Downtown Facade Improvement Program (Resolution ¹12-50)to make financial assistance available to businesses,organizations,and property owners within Downtown Waukee for the preservation,maintanence,and general improvement of the physical appearances of their properties thereby creating an environment that is aesthetically pleasing and facilitates an increase in pedestrian traffic;AND, WHEREAS,on October 24,2011 the Waukee City Council approved the Downtown Design Guidelines (Resolution ¹11-202)that provide guidance for the exterior appearance of properties within specified areas of the Downtown;AND, WHEREAS,Geoff Warmouth,owner of Waukee Hardware at 380 6'Street,has submitted a Facade Improvement Program Application requesting grant funding in the amount of $6,520.75 equal to half of the total project costs associated with repairing and replacing the siding on Waukee Hardware;AND, WHEREAS,the Facade Improvement Program Application submitted for the repairing and replacing of the siding on Waukee Hardware is in conformance with the guidelines,terms, and conditions set forth in the Downtown Facade Improvement Program;AND, WHEREAS Fa ade Im rovement Pro ram Grants are awarded as areimbursement for the actual costs incurred by the applicant after the project has been completed;AND, WHEREAS the Downtown Desi n Committee reviewedthe Fa atfe Im rovement Pro ram Application at their November 4,2016 meeting and recommended approval of the Downtown Facade Improvement Program Grant for Waukee Hardware;AND, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this 7th day of November 2016 that a Grant Award in the amount of $6,520.75 is approved for the repairing and siding of Waukee Hardware. illiam .Peard,Mayor Attest Rebecca D.Schuett,City Clerk ROLL CALL VOTE Anna Bergman Brian Harrison Shelly Hughes Larry R.Lyon Rick Peterson AYE X X X NAY ABSENT ABSTAIN X X
