RESOLUTION 17-051
APPROVING APPOINTMENT TO FILL A VACANT COUNCIL SEAT
WITH A TERM TO EXPIRE DECEMBER 31,2017
IN THE NAME AND BY THE A UTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WA UKEE,ION'A
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas
County;AND,
WHEREAS,on January 11,2017,the Waukee City Council accepted the resignation of
Rick Peterson from his seat as a member of the City Council,effective January 5,2017;
AND,
WHEREAS,by authorization of the Code of the State of Iowa,Section 372.13(2)(a),the
remaining members of the City Council may fill the vacancy by appointment within 60
days after the vacancy occurs;AND,
WHEREAS,a Notice of the City of Waukee City Council's intent to fill a vacant City
Council seat by appointment was published in the Dallas County News on January 26,
2017,in accordance with the provision of the Code of the State of Iowa,Section
3723 3(2xa).
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session this 30 day of January,2017,that it hereby appoints Richard Charles Bottenberg
to fill a vacant City Council seat,effective February 6,2017,with a term to expire
December 31,2017.
