RESOLUTION 17-191
APPROVING THE TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CERTAIN PUBLIC STREETS FOR
THE CELEBRATE WAUKEE FESTIVAL
IN THE NAME AND BY THE A UTHORITY OE THE CITY OF 8'A UICEE,l08'A
WHEREAS,the Celebrate Waukee Planning Committee requests the following temporary
closures of specific public streets for activities associated with the Celebrate Waukee Festival:
~Festival:The temporary closing of Walnut Street from 5'"Street west to 6'"Street,and
Walnut Street from 6'"Street west 125 feet to the alley beginning 8:00 a.m,on Friday,
June 2,2017,and ending 12:00 p.m.on Monday,June 5,2017;
~Parade:The temporary closing of Locust Street from 5'"Street west to 6"'Street;6"
Street from Locust Street north to Ashworth Drive;Ashworth Drive from 6'Street south
and east to 4ra Street;4"Street from Ashworth Drive south to Northview Drive;
Northview Drive from 4'"Street east to S.Warrior Lane;S.Warrior Lane from
Northview Drive south to SE Park Road where the parade participants will disburse,
beginning 12:30 p.m.and ending when the parade is concluded on Saturday,June 3,
2017;

Lane east to SE L.A.Grant Parkway and S.Warrior Lane from SE University Avenue
north to SE Park Road beginning 8:30 p.m.and ending 10:30 p.m.on Saturday,June3,
2017;AND,
WHEREAS,pursuant to tJ364.12(2xa),public ways and grounds may be temporarily closed by
resolution;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
17"'day of April,2017,that it hereby approves the temporary closing of cer in public streets for
the Celebrate Waukee Festival.
